Rebel to Redeemed: The Prodigal Returns
I was taken to a safe place and able to make contact with Mama. I’ve often wondered what I would have done if we’d not reconnected two months earlier. Looking back, I see that even in the wait God was working.
I returned home to South Carolina and my family I’d not seen in over three years. I was broken, humiliated and embarrassed.
Thankfully, my family was very loving and supportive. They did not bombard me with questions, but allowed me to talk and share when and as needed.
I wasn’t sure how I would be received, but the majority of my family welcomed me home with open arms, held me and allowed me the opportunity to know I was missed and loved.
There were other family members where we did not know what to say one another and the atmosphere was awkward from the uncertainty.
However, I was home and maybe now the healing could begin.
