Praying for the Prodigal
Recently, I heard some disturbing news about an extended family member.
My heart broke at the news and the long-term effects this may have on not only this person’s life, but also other lives.
Immediately I was stricken with the reminder of when I was the prodigal child and making bad decisions. This was the same pattern evident in this other person’s life.
I began to pray for this person as they continue to live for the world and not Christ.
I hope this person will not have the hit rock bottom the way I did, but the Lord will do whatever is necessary to get our attention. I am thankful for people who prayed for me during my lost years and committed to doing the same for this person.
“He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.” Psalm 40:2
Who do you need to pray for?
I know all about the prodigal years also. And how God answered our prayers for the family member. And how He used the pain to show me my own prodigal heart. He never wastes anything in our lives and in always going after the prodigals. Praise His Name!
Blessings to you today my friend!
Thank you for sharing, Glenda. So true, he never wastes anything.
