The Lord Pushes Us

I was recently talking to a friend about how my student loan payment had increased

We all need to be pushed out of our comfort zone at times

dramatically and I wasn’t sure how I was going to make ends meet.  We began to brainstorm ideas and options to relieve this stress and bring in some additional income.

During the discussion, I was sharing my heart with her and some of the dreams and plans the Lord had placed on my heart.  But, I also could not help but share some of my fears also.

This dear friend looked at me and said “sometimes the Lord pushes us to where we need to be.  Maybe that is what he is doing here.”

We can find freedom within

“Is that what you are doing?”  I asked the Lord.

Joseph would have never willingly left his family, but when his brothers sold him into slavery, he had no choice.   But, the story does not end there.  Fast forward a good two decades, and Joseph has gone from slave to prisoner to the king’s right hand man.  Joseph was able to save the land of Egypt and his father’s family from famine and danger.

Joseph told his brothers “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”   {Genesis 50:20}

But, God used some difficult circumstances to get Joseph to this point and to use him.

What difficult circumstances has the Lord used to push you and get you to where you need to be?
