Turning control over to God
I have to admit that there are times when I can be a control freak.
I’ve struggled to control various parts of my life, such as my struggles to lose weight and my finances.
God has worked in my heart and life to teach me that I cannot hold on too tightly, because the change I long for will never come when I do.
Even in my romantic relationships, I struggled to hold on and fix a bad situation. Only when I surrendered and turned control over to God, was He able to begin to work.
In our humanness, we think we can fix our situations or problems and make them work.
Sometimes this has not been easy and has only been after a great struggle, dragging my feet or procrastinating.
I wonder at times, why I struggle so much when time after time God has proven his faithfulness.
I know in my mind that when I let go and allow God to work, He has much better in store
Time after time, scripture tells us to trust the Lord and lean not on our own understanding {Proverbs 3:5} while setting our minds on what is above and not on earthly things. {Colossians 3:2}
So, I will continue to keep my eyes on the Lord and to let go of being in control because I know He can move mountains that I cannot even shake.
