Preparing for the Future

When I was a child and we lived in seminary housing, every time a new family moved in, I was the unofficial welcoming committee.

I asked so many questions that I received questions such as “are you writing my biography?”

Finally, my parents had to tell me to stop asking so many questions.

Fast forward to the present day, and I see how even in those early days God was preparing

me for the future.

I had no idea at the tender age of five and six, that one day I would take up an interest in my family history, that I would become a writer, and that I would have a job in which part of my tasks was to ask people about their lives and interest.

I see how these events have come full circle in my life.

All of these questions come together to form the present and prepare the future

We cannot see into the future, but we can plan our path.  However, the Lord will direct our steps and his purpose for us will prevail.

Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Those interest and lessons of today, will be used for His good in the future.

How has God prepared you for future events?
