What Fruit Do You Bear?
I have had several non-Christian friends ask the question, “Why should I go to church and make friends when the friends I have treat me better than the Christians?”
That was a question that broke my heart and I had no idea ow to answer, but to tell them about my best friend, Jesus Christ.
As Christians we are held to a higher standard and should live our lives as a witness for Jesus.
We are told as Christians to bear the fruits of the spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, kindness, forgiveness and self-control. {Galatians 5:22-23}
However, we often hear stories of how gossip, anger, rudeness, lust, jealousy, envy and a variety of other vices have brought down a person, organization or even a church.
As a Christian we all need to ask ourselves, what fruit does our life bear.
Galatians 5:15 says, “But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.”
However, there is hope. All we have to do is ask the spirit to help us and he will begin the purification and changing process to help us become more life Him.
Galatians 5:25 says, “If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk.”
Do you want to be consumed by the world, or consumed by the spirit?
