A Roadmap for the New Year

Often it is difficult to see over our present horizon.  But, we have just embarked on a new year and with it arrive new hopes and new goals.

When we look back and see one set of footprints, we realize that when we are broken, the Lord carried us

Even if the world seems dark at the moment, we hope that by the end of this year, it will

not feel quite so desolate.

I recently heard Denzel Washington say “Each day set a goal.”

So, even if we are hurting we can set a goal each day.  In the beginning, that goal may be to get out of bed, get off the couch or open the front door and step outside.

But from those small steps, we can add another small step and another and before we realize it we have taken a huge step.  When we look back we may not even be sure how we’ve come so far.  But we have because all of the small steps added up.

David wrote in Psalm 18:36, “You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.”

What small steps can you make toward your goal?
