Pouring Out My Pain

Growing up, I had a brown bear that stayed with me all the time.  I can’t tell you how many countless times, I hugged him tight, while tears ran down my face.  He brought me great comfort and strength over the decades I had him.

Some friends are for just a short time and others for a lifetime….

There are times when we all need someone to just hold us while we cry.  So often, I began to think I’ve dealt with a situation and come through victorious on the other side, but then something happens and that wound is fresh and open again.

Sometimes it may be a book I read or movie I saw and other times it may be something someone said or did.  Sometimes I never know when the scab will unexpectedly be pulled away.

But regardless of what happens or how much I hurt, I can always take my pain and hurts to Jesus.

More than anyone He knows who and what I am feeling and going through.  Even when I do not understand the source of the pain He does.

God is the only place to turn

Jesus is my friend and He wants to be your friend also.  When no one else can, He can hold us while we cry.  He can listen to our heart song and provide comfort and strength we need and long for.  He has the power of the healing waters, which I could not find in my bear.

Psalm 110:7 tell us “He will drink from the brook by the wayside; Therefore He will lift up His head.”

We can lift our heads up and be comforted in our friend, Jesus.

How has Jesus comforted you?
