My Harshest Critic
I am my harshest critic. There are times I beat myself up for saying the wrong thing or something I did.
However, often the other people involved often do not give my faux pas a second thought.
I recently heard a speaker say, “we are harder on ourselves than on others.”
I know for myself this is true. I will beat myself up for days or weeks over a perceived mistake. However, I don’t usually focus on the words or actions of others.
Sometimes, we just need to take a deep breath and give ourselves a break.
Proverbs 19:8 says, “To acquire wisdom is to love oneself; people who cherish understanding will prosper.”
We’ve all seen the messages from God and this one says it perfectly. “You are beautiful. I know because I made you.”—God
Loving ourselves and seeing the good God sees in us is often difficult behind all of our flaws, hurts and pains. However, God loves us just the way we are. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want more from us and for us.
