Names of God: I Am

The Lord often said “I Am,” which distinguishes the spiritual self from the human self.

God’s love for us never ends

The I Am has it’s being in heaven, the realm of God and is in the will of God.

God is stating that he is a being, however he is a divine and holy being.

Both God and Jesus make statements which say “I Am”.

In Hebrew the phrase eheyeh ’asher ’eheyeh translates into “I Am Who I Am” and in Greek Egō eimi is translated into I Am.

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. “  {John 8:58}

“I Am the Bread of Life”                                               {John 6:51}

“I Am the Good Shepherd”                                           {John 10:11}

He is the Light of the World

“I Am the Light of the World”                                        {John 8:12}

“I Am the Door”                                                            {John 10:7,9}

“I Am the true vine”                                                      {John 15:1,5}

“I Am the way, the truth and the life”                            {John 14:6}

“I Am the resurrection and the life”                               {John 11:24-26}

“I Am the Alpha and Omega”                                        {Revelation 1:8}
