God is Faithful
When our pastor retired earlier this year, the theme he and his wife shared on their final Sunday was God is Faithful.
They shared stories of how God was faithful to provide for needs both personally and in
ministry.
I thought back over my life and how God has been faithful to me.
Some of the moments God reminded me of:
- God has brought me out of two abusive relationships
- God kept me from being homeless when I left my abusive relationship
- God kept me from being killed in the abusive relationship
- God has helped me to overcome depression, fear, and betrayal
- God has provided financially through times of need
- God has provided through periods of unemployment
- God has opened doors for a job I love
- God has opened doors to network with other writers and build lasting friendships
- God has provided as I’ve moved out on my own to provide all the furniture and appliances I needed
- God has pulled me through various health issues
- God has helped me learn to forgive when I’ve been hurt and betrayed
- God has helped me to learn to love myself and see my self-worth
I’m sure there are many other examples that I have failed to include, but these are a few
of the highlights.
When I grow discouraged, I can look back on all the ways God has provided and been faithful to me and know that He will continue to be faithful.
God promises that He will be faithful. The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. {Lamentations 3:22-23}
Have you thought about making your own list of how God has been faithful? How has He been faithful to you?
