When Fear is Bestowed in Us

I have had dealings with others that have led to insecurities.

I had a job where the CEO sat as a Queen in her office.  I’ll admit that although I am no longer there, even today this leads me to nervousness when dealing with those in charge.

I even confessed this to my boss one day, when she noticed the fear in my eyes.

While that helped to break the ice, there are still times when the same fear encroaches on my heart and mind.  I have to pray and beg God to assist me in working through these fears and insecurities.

Jesus said in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Regardless of the fear others try to impose on us, there is only one person to be feared and that is God the Father.  However, to fear the Lord is not to quake where we stand, but to be in awe of His might and power.

One day we will all stand before Him and answer for our actions.  Those who know Him and love Him will have nothing to fear.  Those who reject Him will suffer eternal damnation.

What do you fear?
