Afraid to Dream

I was so beaten down my the abuse that I was afraid to dream. Afraid to hope.

Don’t be afraid to dream

After all, I was told constantly that God did not love me. My abuser wanted to do all he could to keep me down and under his control. He wanted me to lose hope. With each ounce of hope that was lost, a piece of myself was also lost.

I gave up my dreams. For a while.

But in time, I found my inner strength. As my strength returned, so did my hopes and dreams.

No matter how small or large our dreams, we can take hold of that ounce of hope and hold on to it. We all need something to hold on to in the darkness.

Job said “who can see hope for me?” {Job 17:15}

What hope do you have?
