Taking Our Troubles to the Lord

Doubt and fear was welling up within me and my thoughts were getting the best of me.  I could feel my anxiety rising and worry increasing.

Normally when this happens I can spiral out of control and struggle to pull myself from this dark place.  This time I decided not to do this.

Instead, I began to pray about the issue and ask the Lord to calm my fear and anxiety and help me to call down.  Within arms reach were my memory verses and I reached for them, reciting each one over and over.

Within moments I felt myself calm down and my fears began to reside. The negative thoughts crowding my mind were swept out and the Lord wrapped his arms around me and loved on me. Taking my troubles to the Lord eased the anxiety crowding in and He whispered peace into my soul.

Paul wrote, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”  {Philippians 4:6}

When anxiety, doubt, fear and shame began to get the best of us there is one whom we can turn to. There we will find peace and comfort.

Do you take your troubles to the Lord?
