Salvation

Are you searching for answers?   Do you long for peace?

Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?

WHO:

We are all sinners and the only way to be forgiven of our sin and come to know God is through his son, Jesus.

But, how do I know I am a sinner?

Because we are ALL sinners.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”    Romans 3:23

We will all die one day, but for those of us who know the Lord there is hope.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

But, you want to argue, I’m not perfect.   God wants you just the way you are.

“Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.”    Billy Graham

WHAT:

God has a gift for us.  That is a gift of eternal life with him.

God only wants the best for us, but we have to accept His gift first.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”   Jeremiah 29:11

The Lord loves you and wants you to accept His gift.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”    Romans 11:25-26

Jesus is the only way to eternal life.  He wants us to come to him, so that he can take our burdens and give us comfort and peace.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

WHEN:

The time to accept Jesus is now.  He is eager and waiting with his arms open wide.

The only way to come to know the Lord is through his son, Jesus.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”   John 14:6

We often find it easy to become disheartened and troubled.  But, Jesus tells us not to become troubled.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.”  John 14:1

After all, Jesus came to save everyone who was lost.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”  Luke 19:10

WHY:

Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice on the cross

The only way to come to know God, is to accept the gift He sent. That gift was his son, Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

“God proved His love on the Cross.  When Christ hung, and bled and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you’”.  Billy Graham

But, there is hope and promise through Jesus Christ.

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”   John 3:17-18

By accepting Christ, we are not losing, but we are gaining. We are attaining eternal life and only the best that God has for us.

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21

“I have never known a man who receiving Christ and ever regretted it.” Billy Graham

HOW:

Ask Jesus to come into your heart.

Jesus says, we just have to ask. He promises “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.” John 6:37

Billy Graham, the famous evangelist, often asked people at his crusades to pray the following prayer.  If you would like to ask God into your heart, pray this same prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen
