Hymn Story: When We All Get to Heaven

This rousing hymn was written by Eliza E. Hewitt, while she was an invalid. what a friend

She was born on June 28, 1851 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  After becoming a public school teacher, she received an injury that caused considerable health issues and spinal problems.  Hewitt became bed bound for a period of time.  During this time, she wrote many hymns that we still know and love today.  When We All Get to Heaven was written during this difficult and trying times of her life.

Hewitt later improved enough to work carry out considerable work for the Sunday School.  However, she continued to suffer from her injuries for the remainder of her life.

She died in 1920.  Some of her other hymns include Sunshine in my Soul, More About Jesus Would I Know and Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown?
