The Weak Break the Strong
While often the abuser appears to be the one that is strong, that person is the one who is weak.
That person takes their insecurities, uncertainties, doubts, lack of validation and any former abuse out on the person they are abusing.
This is a person they are trying to
- Break their spirit
- Manipulate
- Use
- Recondition to their terms
- Terrorize
- Show they are in-control
- Show their power over another
However, by breaking us, the abuser ends up making us stronger.
Ernest Hemingway said, “The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at
the broken places.”
While others may try to break us, God will still love us, no matter what others may try to tell us.
Psalm 51:17 says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”
When we are broken in spirit, God will take that brokenness and create a new heart for us that is in his image.
What has God done with your broken heart and spirit?
