Praying Over Our Problems

As I mentioned last week, the power of my words landed me in trouble. The situation took several weeks to resolve.  This was a very stressful time and led to more than one sleepless night.

I turned the only place possible. To the Lord in prayer.  I poured my heart out and begged the Lord to change the situation, but it only seemed to grow worse instead of better.

Finally, I prayed for God’s will to be done in this situation and for a resolution to be reached which was pleasing to him.

I had to get out of my own way and allow the Lord to work.  Once I did this the situation was resolved, although it still took another week before the final resolution was reached.

Sometimes we have to get out of our own way and allow God to work.

The Apostle Paul wrote “Do not be anxious, but in every situation through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to the Lord.”  {Philippians 4:6}
