Book Review: Praying for the Prodigal
Do you have a prodigal in your life? Have you had one in the past?
I’ve slowly been revealing my story as the prodigal child on Monday’s current series, Rebel to Redeemed.
I want to recommend a wonderful book for anyone struggling with a prodigal in their life.
Andrea Merrill’s Praying for the Prodigal: Encouragement and Practical Advice While Waiting for the Prodigal to Return is a MUST READ if you or someone you know are struggling with this issue.
Merrill is open and honest about her struggles with not one, but two prodigal children. She shares her story at the beginning of the book, followed by wonderful tips and advice of how to deal with a prodigal child. Even her former prodigal children offer their own feedback and tips.
This is an easy read you will not want to put down until you are finished. You will find hope, encouragement and scripture to provide wisdom and peace through this difficult time.
At the end of the book are a month of devotions for the Prodigal child. These can easily be adapted to pray for any other prodigal in your life, whether they are a friend, neighbor, family member, co-worker, etc.
I strongly recommend this book if you have a prodigal or a gift to someone experiencing this struggle.
