Mary, How Did You Feel?–Part 2
Mary, How Did You Feel?–Part 2
Turning the water into wine
Learning to walk on water
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Ministering to the thousands
Feeding hundreds with just two loaves and some fish
The parables that he taught
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
As he healed the lame
And raised the dead from the grave
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
He was hailed as wonderful
His praises were sung
He was paraded into town
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Yet, he foretold of the future
And all that was to come
Did you know? Did you understand?
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
He made some people mad
Speaking of a kingdom they did not understand
Destroying the temple and moneychangers
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
The day he was arrested
Taken from the garden
Tried for crimes he did not commit
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Beaten to a pulp
Whipped beyond recognition
The crown piercing his skull
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
As he dragged his cross through town
Before being hung on it to die
The blood that seemed to pour down
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
The guards standing there mocking
The crowd as it jeered
The pain in his eyes
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
To put himself through this
Not for himself, but everyone else
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
You stood there looking on so hopeless
John by your side
Feeling so helpless
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Begging for a thirst of water
Forgiving the thief by his side
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Then it was finished
As the ground began to shake
Darkness covered the sky
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Relief when they didn’t break his legs
The pain that your son was gone
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
His body taken down
As it was placed in the tomb
No time for a decent burial
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
The Sabbath was about to begin
How long those three days must have been
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
The pain and the tears
Knowing that your son was gone
Realizing that this was his destiny
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
Did you think that it was over?
Or did you know that God had another plan?
Did you understand all that was happening?
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
The heavy steps to the tomb
The weight on your heart
The longing to touch your son
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
The stone rolled away
Your son no longer there
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
To see the angel
And hear that he had risen
How your heart must have rejoiced
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
That he was alive
He had risen from the grave just as he’d promised
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
To know for sure that it was true
The joy of holding him in your arms
How overjoyed you must have been
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
As he talked with his disciples
Explaining all that had happened
Telling of all that was to come
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
As he said his final goodbyes
Preparing to go to the father
Watching his ascension
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
How wonderful it must have been
To be the mother of Jesus
Both the joy and the pain and heartache
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
From his lowly birth in a stable
To watching him grow and minister
To his violent death and resurrection
Did you realize how blessed you were?
That you were the special one God chose
That he saw how pure your heart was
Oh Mary, how did you feel?
To be the mother of the greatest King of all
That two thousand years later, his name was still called
Doing something for all mankind, preparing all who believed in him for eternity
