Knowing Our Limits

Recently, we had a cook out at work and although I had numerous topping options, it was still not enough.  I have had to learn when to say enough is enough.

I have always been a people-pleaser, but my job is so demanding and the various wants are so numerous that if I try to please everyone I have nothing left to give.

I finally became so fed up that I put the following saying I’d seen in a business up, “I can only please one person a day…Today is not your day and tomorrow isn’t looking good either.”

Sometimes we have to learn what our limits are and to set boundaries.

Even Jesus set boundaries and was honest in his reaction and answers.

He said in Matthew 5:37, “Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.”

We have to discover what our limits are, when to say yes and when to say no.

Have you set up healthy boundaries?
