Killing Our Enemies with Kindness

Planning a party can be stressful, especially when the party is for three times more people than you are accustomed to planning for.

We all need a little kindness in our life

Several months ago, we had a huge event we were planning a party for when another department completely lost their cool and began to throw a tantrum.

I was very taken aback by this unprofessional behavior and already stressed to the hit, turned and walked away.  I did not have the energy to deal with the childishness at that time.

However, there was a lot of tension between us in the weeks following this difficult time.

We were all under a lot of stress and I had two options.  I could add fuel to the fire or I could kill this person with kindness.

I chose to kill this individual with kindness and pray for whatever this individual may be going through.

Jesus said, “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.”   Luke 6:27-30

Killing our enemies with kindness is not always easy, but it is what Jesus commanded and over the course of time we were able to put aside our differences and work alongside one another.

Do you pray for your enemies?
