Waymaker is a contemporary worship song that is very popular right now. It was written by Nigerian gospel singer Sinach. She released the song as a single and music video on December 30, 2015.

The following year, she released Waymaker-Live in November. The song became certified gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa.

Sinach was rated as the “female artist of the decade, gospel female artist of the decade, and No. 7 artist of the decade in Nigeria”.

In October 2020, Waymaker won a Dove Award for song of the Year. Sinach was the first Nigerian gospel artist to win the award and top the Billboard Christian Songwriters chart.

The song has been covered by numerous other artists including Michael W.Smith, Mandisa, and Leeland.
