Discovering the Hidden Blessing
I often have people ask ‘how many children do you have’?
For years, my heart broke as I told them none. With two abusive relationships behind me, I’m thankful I did not have children with these men, but it also means I did not have children.
This has been difficult, as it has been my dream from a young age.
However, recently the Lord has been revealing the hidden blessing in this status to me.
Working with senior adults {who sometimes act like children} the Lord revealed to me I have many children {even if they are older than me}.
The Lord has also revealed to me that not having children provides me with the opportunity to write, sing and work on the ministry he has called me to.
I’ll admit there are still times when my heart catches or I have a good cry, but the Lord is revealing more each day of the hidden blessing in this matter.
Paul wrote in Galatians 4:27, “As Isaiah said, “Rejoice, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into a joyful shout, you who have never been in labor! For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband!”
I realized how true Isaiah and Paul’s words are in my case.
What hurts, pain and losses have turned into hidden blessings in your life?
