Behind the Song: Ten Thousand Angels Cried

Ten Thousand Angels Cried is a popular song we hear around Easter. LeAnn Rimes released the song on her You Light Up My Life album.

The inspirational album was released by Curb Records when Rimes was fifteen years old and her second album.

Dave Patillo is accredited as the writer on her album. 

Patillo’s website states “The David Patillo song Ten Thousand Angels Cried was performed at the post 911 National Memorial for Fallen Firefighters.”

This song should not be confused with the similar titles He Could Have Called Ten Thousand Angels and Ten Thousand Angels country song by Mindy McCready. Her version was written by Billy Henderson and Steven Dale Jones.
