When We Can’t Return Home

Last week, I wrote of my fear to return home. But there are times when our circumstances does not allow us to return home.

Whether that is because our parents are dead or due to a falling out or due to safety issues or a variety of other issues, sometimes it isn’t possible.

Shelters are set up to assist abused women

So, what do we do when we cannot return home?

  1. Search for abuse shelters in the area

  2. Reach out to a local church for help {each church has their own issues and bi-laws for such circumstances. If one church cannot help try another.}

  3. Talk with HR at your work place. Some companies have programs in place for such circumstances.

  4. Ask for a transfer at work {to the other side of the country if possible}

  5. Call the National Domestic Hotline or call them at  1−800−799−7233

Leaving can be intimidating and dangerous. This is a matter that should be covered in prayer.

What made you stronger?

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”” {Deuteronomy 31:6}

Where can you go?
