Using Our Gifts for God

So, what do all of these women have in common?

They are using their gifts for God.

we all have gifts and talents we can use for others

• 1 Corinthians 12 shares that we all have our own spiritual gifts.
• Ephesians 4:11  And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
• Romans 12:7-8 let us give ourselves to our ministry; or he that teacheth, to his teaching; or he that exhorteth, to his exhorting: he that giveth, let him do it with liberality; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.
• Acts 2:38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
• Acts 11:17 “Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”
• Acts 15:8 “And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;

We all have our own spiritual gifts and for each of us that gift is unique.  It is understanding what that gift is and how to use it for God’s glory.

So, what are some ways we can use our gifts as a part of creative praying?

1. Cooking—cook a meal for a person in need and pray for that person while
   

   if cooking is your gift, this is a way to say I care to someone and pray while you prepare a meal for that individual

   cooking

2. Baking—bake for a person in need and pray for them while baking
3. Sewing—whether it is repairs or making a blanket {or anything in between}, while using this gift pray for that individual
4. Crocheting/Knitting—whether it is for the homeless, the children, abused women, the elderly, a person battling cancer or other individuals in need you can pray for the person that will receive the items you are making
5. Gift of hospitality—invite a friend in need in for a meal. During this time, just be a friend.  Allow the Holy Spirit to direct whether you pray for them outloud or silently.

There are numerous other skill sets and gifts which can be used.  This is just a small sampling.

The point is to use your gifts, talents and hobbies to do something for others.  While you are creating for someone else, take time to pray for him/her.  Even if you don’t know who this individual will be, you can still pray.  God knows that person and God knows that need.
