I began to have more self-confidence.  With self-confidence my self-esteem seemed to improve.

There were often times I had to push myself to step out and take a tiny step.  Sometimes this was to just do something different, such as eat at a different restaurant, attend a different church that Sunday or attend a class.

“God help me,” I’d pray beforehand and he always did.

The more I embraced the new experiences, the better I felt.

People were actually welcoming and accepting.

I began to realize that I did have worth and my life did matter.
