The Power of Our Words

Several weeks ago, after an exhausting week I snapped at a friend of mine. Although my words were not directed towards her, they were perceived to be and taken personally.

What do your words say?

The situation escalated and almost came to an end.  Even after apologizing the situation was not easily resolved.

King Solomon wrote “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but hard words stir up anger.” {Proverbs 15:1}

I was reminded our words hold power and there is power in our words.

The old adage began to run through my mind “If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.”  This can be difficult at times, but isn’t it better than regretting what we say and being unable to take them back?

What power have you found in your words?
