Submitting to God

I have always been independent and head strong.  This has caused me to get in trouble on more than one occasion. 

Ever since I rededicated my life to Christ over a decade ago, the Lord has had to break me at times.  This is not easy in the moment, but once I’m through the situation I see what he was doing.

Handing over control to the Lord is not easy at times.  I often think I know best.

However, the Lord said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways…for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways.” {Isaiah 55:6-9}

The Lord has proved this to me time and time again.  He has NEVER resolved a situation the way I thought He would.  Often the process was painful but, in the end,, He knew best and worked things out for His glory.

So, I will continue to strive to give up control, seek the Lord’s will and allow Him to lead.  However, in my humanness and with my take charge personality submitting to God isn’t always easy.  So, I’ll continue to remind myself of his promises and that His thoughts are not my thoughts and His ways are not my ways.
