Exercise buddies help you stay motivated and have more fun

Over and over I have struggled with the same basic issue when it comes to weight loss.  That is to stay motivated.

I set my mind and determine to work hard, eat healthy and exercise.  For a few weeks I do really well, but eventually I lose the motivation to keep working hard.

The factors that lead to this lack of motivation vary, but most often include a change in schedule, illness, exhaustion, a loss, an incident with GG {such as a fall}, etc.

There are times when I am able to bounce back, but more oft than not, I have to reset my pattern of thought and determine to get back on track.

Some ways that I struggle to stay motivated are:

  1. Build a “Plan”  {to workout and eat healthy}
  2. Get goals {both short and long term}—reward yourself when you reach each goal with something other than food {ex. New clothes,massage,mani/pedi, exercise equipment, etc]

  3. Get competitive or find an exercise buddy
  4. Get rid of the junk and keep just healthy food in the house
  5. List reasons for losing weight
  6. Confront your fears, dig deep and identify your triggers
  7. Try new things {both food and exercises}
  8. Hang up your dream outfit to motivate you {pictures also work}
  9. Create an inspiration board.  Today this can even be done on sites such a Pinterest.

How do you stay motivated in your weight loss journey?
