Should I retaliate or Forgive?

Upon learning the circumstances behind my forced move, I had a number people say “you should sue”.

Should I? Was it worth it?

I thought about it. I prayed about it. But I did not feel led to sue.

Not that what the owners did was right, but the Lord would not allow me to retaliate in such a form. Discovering the depth of their duplicity, I knew deep down it would do no good.

Instead, the Lord asked me to forgive them. This wasn’t easy and is an ongoing struggle at times, but I began to pray for them and lift them up to the Lord. When I do this my heart is filled with forgiveness.

Paul wrote, “For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”  {Hebrews 10:30}

If Jesus says to leave it with Him, he will repay and judge then who am I to argue? He knows how to get their attention better than I do.

How do you react when someone does you wrong?
