Putting God Between Me and the Problem

Last week I shared about worrying about tomorrow.  Recently various circumstances have overwhelmed me.

Do you ever feel stuck?

No matter how much I tried to find a solution or brainstorm I was stuck. No answers were coming. With each answer, my frustration grew.

Then I read a devotional. The devotional said something to the extent of instead of putting your problem between you and God why not put God between you and the problem.

As I read, I realized I have been guilty of putting the situation between me and God. I had not put God between the problem and myself.

Show me how to put you between me and the problem, Lord? Help me not to hold on too tightly.

I can’t tell you that I do it perfectly every day, but I find the weight has been lifted.

I imagine Jesus standing there with his arms stretched out and each time the problem begins to grow in my mind and heart I imagine placing it in God’s hands.

After all, one of my favorite verses says “I will lift mine eyes until to hills for whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.”  {Psalm 121:1-2}

I just have to keep my eyes on the hills. God will come and provide.

Do you lift your eyes to the hills? Do you put God between you and your problem?
