Praying for the Lord’s Provision

When a friend and I began a new Christian writer’s group in our area we weren’t sure how much interest we would find.

We worked to send out notices to the proper media channels, events calendars, bookstores and churches in our area. However, we also hit some roadblocks and snags along the way, as some of these places refused to share.

There were moments of uncertainty and doubt which crept in.  Then I began to pray for the Lord’s provision asking him to make it known to those who needed to be there and whom this would help.  We were thrilled when a dozen people expressed interest.

Paul wrote, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”  {Philippians 4:6}

Instead of worrying, we should ask the Lord’s provision and take it to him.  Notice what the next verse says.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  {Philippians 4:7}

May we always remember to take it to the Lord and seek his provision.
