Some people come into our lives for a season

From time to time friends will popup as a recommendation or requesting to be friends that I have not seen in decades.

There are times when it is wonderful to see the friends name.  I had wondered what

happened to that individual and how their lives had turned out.

Other times, I realize that this is a friendship that was best left in the past for a variety of different reasons.

Someone once said, “People always come into your life for a reason, a season and a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.”

When looking at these request, I have to decide if that person was a reason, season or lifetime.   Do I wish them well and move on or do I choose to renew that friendship?

Each person and each case is different and individual.  For me, if I’m not sure, I pray about it and seek God’s direction.

But, how do we know if it is a reason, season or lifetime?  The unknown author went on to share the following:

  • “When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a

difficulty, or to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are. They are there for a reason, you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die, Sometimes they just walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilleed; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.”

  • “When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has

Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season. And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall, the season eventually ends.”

  • “LIFETIME, relationships teach you a lifetime of lessons; those things you must

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being part of my life.”

Proverbs 12:26 puts it more plainly.  “The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.”

Do you choose your friends carefully or do you allow your friends to lead you astray?
