Movie Review: Old Fashioned–A Must See

Do you wish you could go back in time?  Do you long for the ideals shared by your parents and grandparents?Old-Fashioned-2015

Old Fashioned shares these ideals, of a young man not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.

Clay Walsh, is a former frat boy, who gave up on the way of the world to honor his belief and commitment to God.

Amber Hewson, has a restless soul, as she struggles to find a place where she belongs.

When Amber rents an apartment from Clay she is surprised by his strong faith and character.  She is quickly drawn to this man that refuses to be alone with a woman not his wife, although he’s currently single.

Clay is drawn to Amber’s free spirit and passionate embrace on life.

As love develops, can Amber put down roots, learn to deal with her deep wounds and overcome her fears?  Clay equally struggles to put his relational theories to rest and deal with his past.

Old-Fashioned-movieThis is a beautiful love story, portraying characters that are flawed and real in their struggles and pursuit for answers.

The principles are honest and share many of the old fashioned values of our previous generations, without presenting them as preachy or as holier than thou.

If you are searching for a wholesome family movie that will not only entertain but also make you think, then this is a great movie to see.

Old Fashioned writer, director and star Rik Swartzwelder summed the movie up, “We wanted to make a modern love story with timeless meaning.”

We all either know someone that is a Clay or an Amber.  Are you one of these characters?

Many single women look for and pray for a man that has the same ideas, principles and values portrayed in the character of Clay Walsh.   This is the type of man that I would not only like to find in a husband, but also pray my brother and nephews are/will be.

Don’t miss the chance to see this movie.   Mr. Swartzwelder sums it up best as a story of “Two wounded souls well past their 20s—or their first loves—are trying to do love right this time around.”

This is a must see movie that will leave you inspired and hopeful.  This is also a great conversation starter for couples or parents and their children.
