You never know who you might influence

In a recent interview Denzel Washington was discussing the difference a special librarian had made in his life and how he’d recently payed tribute to her.  His statement stuck with me, “You never know who you might influence”.

Each day we come in contact with other people and we have the option to be a blessing to that person or not.  This can be a child that needs mentoring, an elderly person who needs someone to go to the store for them, a single parent that needs a babysitter, a homeless person in need of a sandwich, someone having a bad day that needs a smile or a million other scenarios.

We often see celebrities making a difference, but as Mr. Washington said “it’s often the average person that has the most influence”.

We never know when a person might be in need of that extra measure of kindness and blessing.  We often influence the lives of others without realizing it.

Titus 2:7 says, “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity…”

We are to be stewards of good works for Christ.  We never know how our simple acts may eventually open up the door of conversation towards Jesus.

How are you an influence on others?
