Need for control

A well known reality TV star was recently discussing the need for control.  This individual needs control over every part of her life.

This made me think about how often I’ve needed to control a situation.  As I shared recently, letting go is not always easy.

Yet, God doesn’t want us to control everything.

Ouch!  That’s much easier for me to do than not to.  I want to make sure that everything is running smoothly and going according to plan.  But I’m working on my time table and not God’s time table.

His time table is often different from ours.

Sometimes we have to let go of one thing for something else to come along.

However, we’ve got to give up that need for control.

I know this is struggle I occasionally have with God from time to time, but each time I surrender to His will.

Proverbs 3:5 tells us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”.
