Names of God: El Shaddai

El Shaddai  means the God of the mountain and God is almighty and the Lord God Almighty.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty (El Shaddai); walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.” Genesis 17:1,2

  • I’m so glad you featured this one. I was JUST singing “El Shaddai” just a few moments ago – literally! I have often wondered exactly what that means. Now, I know! Thank you. 🙂
