Names of God: Ancient of Days

The word ancient means having had an existence of many years or having the qualities of long existence.

The term ancient of days was used three times in the book of Daniel.

I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of Days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. — Daniel 7:9

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.”   Daniel 7:13

As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them,  until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.      Daniel 7:21-22

The Ancient of days is used to denote “the creator’s aspects of eternity combined with perfection.”

Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,

Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.
