My Wellness Journey Update

For the past two years I have been sharing my wellness journey on my blog.  Along the way, I’ve shared what I’ve learned about health, fitness and nutrition.

Next week will be my last post on this topic, but I wanted to share an update on my journey.

Last year, I’d made a lot of progress and lost 45 pounds.  I was seeing a difference in not only my figure, but also my sleeping habits and attitude.  Then I had a traumatic event take place which uprooted my entire life.  At first, this did not affect my weight loss journey.  Actually, it helped it for a while.  I worked all of my frustration, anger and grief out by walking three to five times a day.  My food intake also greatly diminished.

My weight loss journey has been a roller coaster ride with all of its ups and downs and twist and turns but with each positive step I'm a day closer to reaching my goals

During this transitional period, I worked third shift for three months which threw my entire schedule off.  I began to fall off the wagon and while I continued to walk, it was not with the same intensity.

After this transition came another one with a move, new job and adjustments to my schedule.  After almost a year in this new location, I’m just beginning to find a schedule that works for me.

Thankfully my job keeps me active and my Fitbit has tracked anywhere from 5000 steps on a slow day to 13,000 steps on an extremely busy day.  I’m beginning to see progress again in my eating habits and I push myself to strive for at least ten thousand steps a day.

I am determined to become healthy and reach my goals.  When I do, I will post pictures and an update on my Facebook page and through my newsletter.

While I’ve not reached my goals—YET—I have learned so much through this process and by blogging about my journey.  I hope in some ways I’ve been a help to you also.

In October, a revamped version of health and wellness will begin with The Wellness Life over on my life coaching blog at TrinityChristianLifeCoaching.  I hope you will join me there.
