Fighting the Good in our Lives

I fought going on a C-pap for weeks.  But, I was finally forced to relent and succumb to the device.

Thankfully, I had been warned that it would take me several weeks to grow used to the device.  I was so thankful for this warning.

Almost a month went by, before my brain stopped fighting the device and finally began to accept how good it was for me.

As the technician said when she was setting me up, “sometimes our brain fights what is foreign to us, even if it is for my good.”

I thought back over my life and various circumstances.  There were situations God was using to train and strengthen me, but because it was foreign to my nature, I wanted to fight that external nature.  Only over the course of time and asking the Lord for help, was I able to accept and adapt to my circumstances and the external components.

Paul wrote that the Lord,  “He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.”  {Romans 8:27-28}

The Lord knows what is best for us.  He brings circumstances into our life to help us fight for the good in our lives.

Are you fighting for the good in your life?
