Expressing Ourselves in a Healthy Manner

Last week, I shared a variety of people to talk with when we need to share.

However, what if there is no one to share with at the moment and you just have to let out pent up frustrations?

We all need a way to release our frustration in a safe and productive manner that does not bring harm to us.

So, how do we do this?

  1. Take a walk—walking off our emotions and feelings can make a major difference.

  2. Journaling—we can write out our thoughts and feelings in a journal or through a letter {even if we do not give or send the letter}

  3. Doodling or adult coloring—this may sound childish, but sometimes just mindlessly doodling or pulling out an adult coloring page can relax us.

Journaling was one way I worked through my pain

  1. Dancing or exercise—exercise helps to release endorphins and make us feel better.

  2. Meditate or relaxation techniques—whether this is prayer or yoga or going to your car or the woods and just screaming through the frustration this is one way to let out pent up frustration

Having an outlet to express ourselves and let out our emotions, allows us safely let out our feelings in a manner that is not destructive or cause harm to ourselves or others.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”

How do you express your emotions?
