Developing a Plan

I’ve been in the process of sorting through boxes that were stored away, which I recently moved with me.

It is easy to live in clutter…

I’ve grown tired of looking at the boxes and the “mess” they’ve made.  So, I’ve taken several days throughout the past few months to work on them.

However, every time I walked into the room to begin the work I am so overwhelmed that I do not even know where to start.  I become disgusted and walk out of the room in defeat.

One day I walked in and was immediately overwhelmed.  I began to pray, “God please help me know where to start.  I’m overwhelmed and cannot do this alone”.

…but with a plan we can become organized

I walked out in defeat, frustrated that God had not spoken to me.  However, within a short time I heard a voice whispering in my spirit “develop a plan for the day”.

So, I developed a plan on what I would tackle that day and set to work to carry out that plan.  I felt better when I was finished with that section.

I still have a lot of work before me in going through and throwing out or organizing these belongings, but I keep reminding myself to go in with a plan.

Even when it is something as simple as organizing our possessions, we are told to acknowledge God in all our ways and he will make our path straight. {Proverbs 3:6}.

In what ways do you need to acknowledge God?  What areas in your life do you need to make a plan?
