Abuse Can Make You Crazy

Did you know that abuse can make you crazy?

A quick Google search, shows a variety of articles proving that emotional abuse can in fact lead a person to erratic behavior.

Does your life feel like a rollercoaster?

This was true for me and I felt as if I were going crazy. My abuser made it all out to be my fault and even tried to make me appear crazy to his family.

Then I had co-workers who did not understand and shook there head in consternation.

There were times when my actions often led to nothing but the desire for peace, quiet and rest.

I can’t tell you how many times I walked out and spent the day in a library or nearby restaurant, so that I did not have to deal with the threats, degrading names, blaming and undue pressure.

But during this time, I had a lot of time to think and to pray. I knew that I did not want to continue living this way and deserved better.

I just had no idea how to get away.

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened; and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

When you think you can’t take any more and are about to go crazy, remember that there is one person to whom you can turn.

Do you turn to the Lord when you feel as if you can’t take any more?
