A Blessing to Others

Last week, I shared how God provided for me in my weakness.

I work in a service industry where I give a lot of myself. I have people come to me with a variety of issues and I often have to think outside the box to find a solution to the problem.

There are days when I am left drained and exhausted, having given all of myself I can give.  This is especially true on the days when I put on my counselor hat and listen to a variety of problems.  The one thing I have discovered is that more than anything, we all need someone to just listen as we share our burdens.

But, I can’t tell you how many times, I wonder if I make a difference or if anyone even cares about what we do.   However, on occasion I have my boss, family members, resident’s themselves and other co-workers thank me for a small act I’ve provided.  I am reminded how these small acts can add up and make a difference.

My daily prayer is “Lord, please allow me to be a blessing to those I come into contact with today.”

By no means, do I believe I am able to do all that I do within my own power.  I know that it is only through the goodness and grace of my Lord Jesus, that I am able to be such a blessing to others.

Proverbs 11:25 says, “The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.”

How are you a blessing to others?
