Wellness Tuesday: 7 Tips for Choosing the Best Vegetables

We’ve discussed how to get in our daily dose of vegetables.  However, how do we know which vegetables are best for us?

Some lessons I’ve learned are:

  1. The greener the vegetable the better it is
  2. Learn which vegetables are considered a starch
  3. Vivid colored vegetables are full of nutrients
  4. Learn when your favorite vegetables are in season
  5. Vegetables can now be bought in the frozen food department {or buy fresh and freeze until ready for use}
  6. Don’t let vegetables sit too long or they will go bad
  7. Try different vegetables. I was amazed at the ones I liked and thought I wouldn’t.
